Grade 2 (Year 1 - 4)
Permanent Full Time
(80 hrs per fortnight) with ADO


An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our professional team at Wimmera Health Care Group. This permanent full time position is available immediately and includes working Monday to Friday. This position involves delivering high quality, evidence based clinical services, supervising Grade 1 Occupational Therapists and allied health assistants, assisting with the co-ordination of the undergraduate student program, as well as planning and implementing quality improvement projects within the department. The successful applicant will rotate between acute, sub-acute and community streams, with the opportunity to work within speciality areas of Pain management, Hand Therapy and Paediatrics. Professional development will be supported through regular in-service education, professional support from colleagues and the provision of support to attend continuing education.


Key Selection Criteria include:


Essential:




  • Bachelor of Occupational Therapy or equivalent




  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)




  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence




  • Experience in providing Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention within acute, subacute and community settings.




  • Experience in supervision of Occupational Therapy staff and undergraduate students




  • Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills




  • Well-developed interpersonal skills




  • Current Police check




  • Current Working with Children Check




Desirable:




  • At least 3 years clinical experience




  • Membership of Occupational Therapy Australia




  • Awareness of National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards/Aged Care Quality Standards




  • High level organisation skills




  • Demonstrated ability for collaborative teamwork within a multidisciplinary framework




  • Commitment to continuing Professional Development
