About Chestnut Gardens Residential Home

Chestnut Gardens, Doveton, is home to 100 high care residents and utilises the latest in care and design philosophies. Chestnut Gardens is built as a series of houses, each with its own décor. The home is split into 2 units, the Avenue and the Boulevard, with 4 houses in each unit.

The Avenue is a 40 bed unit, of which 10 are dementia specific and 30 mental health and the Boulevard is a 60 bed unit for those with complex care needs, requiring services that cannot be accessed living in the community.

As a valuable member of a wider team, we are committed to working with you to become your professional best. We offer education sessions, training on the job and career progression to enable you to further develop your skills.

Under the supervision of the Facility Manager and the assistance of other Wellbeing assistants, you will be working with the clinical staff, residents and their representatives to assist in the development, implementation and delivery of a person centred, meaningful activities for all age groups and various interests.

The position is part time, working Monday to Friday and covering other Wellbeing employee leave.

About You:
Sound understanding of person centred care, for all ages.
You have Excellent time management skills and problem-solving ability
Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, including de-escalation of responsive behaviours.
You are able to work with the team and can be self-directed, love creativity and relentless in pursuit of excellence
You are an outside box thinker and eager to implement new ides
Certificate IV in Leisure & Lifestyle
Ensure that Work Health and Safety principles and Infection Control guidelines are adhered to
Able to use computers and other electronic devices and assist care recipients to use them as need it.
Previous experience in working with younger people living in Residential Care setting will be highly regarded.
