Patient Support Services role based at Monash Medical Centre Clayton, to work in the Emergency Department, temporary roles are available until February 2022 while the next stage of the ED redevelopment is undertaken. The shift hours are as follows:

Morning Shift 6.30am - 3.00pm

Afternoon Shift 3.00pm - 11.30pm

Night Shift 10.00pm - 6.30am

About The Role

Based at Clayton working within acute and continuing care facilities, your main focus in this role will be for the effective provision to the Emergency Department base support to Nursing in the delivery of patient care. This positions are required to work Monday to Sunday, positions required for AM, PM and Night Shift, the days of work will depend on the availability of the successful applicants. As these temporary positions are new roles the ability to be flexible to working hours will be highly regarded.

The position incorporates cleaning and patient meal services, patient transfer between wards, mortuary transfers and can involve patient lifting & turning inward bed areas under the direction of nursing staff.

Responsibilities will also include;

Patient Discharge Assistance

Use of Lifting Machines and Slings

Assisting Nursing staff as requested

Transfer & cleaning of ward equipment

Patient transfers with use of equipment; bed movers and wheelchairs.

Mortuary Transfers

Use of Lifting Machines and Slings and at times assisting with Bariatric patients

About You

We are looking for people who have a high standard of customer service, along with great communication skills to provide a personable approach to our patients and visitors at Monash Health. To be consdered for an interview you must be able to demonstrate previous experiencing working in an Emergeney Department within a large Healthcare setting
We will need you to have;

Certificate III Health Services Assistant

Food Handlers Certificate - Level 1

A competent level of verbal & written communication skills

Ability to work with a cohesive team or individually to complete daily tasks

Basic to intermediate computer skills

Ability to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling

A high standard of demonstrated experience in customer service from a health care or hospitality environment (desirable)

Current Victorian Drivers Licence (desirable)
