About the Role

  • Part time position for predominantly afternoon hours (2:00pm to 8:00pm)
  • Located at our busy and thriving Joondalup Aged Care facility
MercyCare is seeking a Chef to join its Residential Aged Care facility in Joondalup. The role will be on a permanent part time basis at 42 hours per fortnight.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the kitchen in an effective and efficient manner, providing nutritious, varied and cost-effective meals in line with residents’ care plans in line with Food Safe principles.

Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum Cert III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent, Cert IV preferable
  • Demonstrated experience cooking for 50-100 residents in a Residential Aged Care setting or similar
  • Sound knowledge of Food Standards Australia New Zealand
  • Sound knowledge of dietary nutrition requirements
  • Supervision skills
  • Excellent standard of written and spoken English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and participation as an active member of a team
  • National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
  • Evidence of current influenza vaccination
