About Nutrition and Dietetics

Nutrition and Dietetics are part of the multidisciplinary team providing a comprehensive range of specialist surgical, medical, allied health and mental health services. Dietitians deliver services to inpatients, speciality outpatient clinical and dedicated dietetic led clinics. There are professional links with Dietitians working in all services across Monash Health bed based and community/ ambulatory based services.

About the Role

Reporting to the Manager Nutrition and Dietetics, Monash Medical Centre and Moorabbin, this role works collaboratively across the Department and more broadly across Monash Health as part of the multidisciplinary teams and Units. The Dietitian will contribute to and drive excellence in quality nutrition and dietetic care to ensure the current and future needs of our patients and their families are met. 

The position:

  • provides a high quality clinical service including nutrition assessment, management, education and discharge planning to prioritised patients predominantly at Monash Medical Centre with remote service to Moorabbin Hospital
  • is supported by the Weekend Allied Health Leader and weekend Allied Health Teams
  • liaises with Weekend Dietitians based at Dandenong and Casey Hospitals.

What you need:

  • Proven clinical experience in acute inpatient care.
  • Demonstrated experience working autonomously, managing demand and keeping pace by exercising excellent prioritisation and communication skills.
  • Clinical reasoning skills, commitment to best practice and readiness to be a clinical leader.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Eligibility for full membership with Dietitians Australia and Accredited Practising Dietitian program
  • 2 clinical referees
  • Current Drivers Licence
