To be eligible to apply, you must:
  • be an Australian Citizen;
  • have completed a Bachelor’s degree of higher in the last five years - between January 2017 and January 2022 (completed and/or recognised in Australia); and
  • have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance, or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level.
An applicant’s suitability for employment with Health will also be assessed through a variety of pre-employment checks, such as:
  • satisfactory completion of a criminal history check, and where relevant a Working with Children and Vulnerable People check; and
  • completion of a medical declaration and possible pre-employment medical.

The Department of Health Graduate Program is located in Canberra and successful applicants will need to live in Canberra to undertake the role (subject to current COVID-19 public health and travel advice at the time of commencement). Relocation assistance is available to successful applicants.
