About the role

The Team Leader – Leisure and Lifestyle is responsible for developing, facilitating and evaluating the leisure and lifestyle program at Calvary Retirement Communities. The Team Leader – Leisure and Lifestyle will ensure that work is completed in an efficient and thorough manner whilst advocating a Resident Centred approach.

The Team Leader – Leisure and Lifestyle will design a program that will support, challenge, and enhance the overall wellbeing of our residents. Working within the household model of care, this role will be an advocate for empowering our residents to make choices and decisions to maximise their participation and fulfillment in such a program.

We are currently seeking an experienced Team Leader - Leisure & Lifestyle for a permanent full time position at our St Joseph facility located in Sandgate NSW!

What you bring

  • Cert IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or other equivalent qualification
  • Clear understanding of and personal commitment to the Mission, Values and Vision of Calvary
  • Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate and CPR
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, programming, coordinating and evaluating resident centred activity programs in residential and Independent Living environments
  • Previous experience working in the aged care industry and/or working with residents with dementia
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the needs and interests of residents, acting as an advocate for the residents
  • Ability to work in a team environment, providing leadership and guidance to staff
  • Demonstrated leadership capability
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and creative problem solving
  • Time management skills in terms of punctuality and working quickly and efficiently
  • Computer skills and experience including Microsoft Outlook and Word
  • Current influenza Immunisation
