Are you seeking a sea change? We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join the team, initially on a project in beautiful Coffs Harbour!

Lahey have built a wide and diverse portfolio of projects ranging from hospitals, aged care, education and correctional facilities as well as community infrastructure, luxury apartments and resort complexes.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join our team, initially on a project located in Coffs Harbour.

The Project Engineer’s principal responsibility is to work as the liaison between the construction, design and administration elements of the project team whilst leading the quality management and design and providing technical construction support for all project stakeholders.

Reporting to the Project Manager, your responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Managing the administration for subcontractors, including assistance in the preparation of monthly final forecast cost estimates (FFC’s) for trade packages and the review of major variations and monthly trade FFC’s with the project team
  • Managing subcontractor progress claims, variations claims and extension of time claims
  • Overall co-ordination and responsibility for activities and tasks associated with the development of overall planning and programming
  • Assist the design team with build ability input
  • Preparation and monitoring of overall short and mid-range design construction and procurement programs and schedules
  • Developing and managing production-planning schedule to allocated disciplines
  • Establishing and monitoring the procurement program
  • Liaising with the design team on programming and procurement issues
  • Preparation and monitoring of quality assurance procedures for the project
  • Communicating to subcontractors requirements to establish and implement project quality plan.

Skills & experience:

  • Degree qualifications in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum 8+ years post-graduate experience in an engineering role within a tier 1-3 building environment
  • Overall understanding of Quality & Design for structures, services, finishes and facade components
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills

In return, we offer an excellent salary package (negotiable based on experience), including for those willing to temporarily relocate for the project, share house accommodation close to the project for the duration of the secondment.
