This exciting role will provide Occupational Therapy Services to care recipients in residential care in accordance with relevant legislation, operational plans, policies, procedures and standards. You will be supported by experienced Occupational Therapists and the Allied Health Management teams and take part in regular Professional Development activities.

The Exciting Opportunity:

As the Senior Occupational Therapist for this beautiful, aged care facility, you will be responsible for the provision of therapy and lifestyle services to their residents. You will manage a team of therapy assistants who undertake 4B massage and junior allied health professionals. This role does not involve pain management or 4B massage.

You will be responsible for:

  • Complete therapy assessments, reviews and respond to clinical referrals.
  • Liaise with residents' families to provide an update
  • Plan and implement individual or group therapeutic activities including meaningful engagement and lifestyle activities
  • Direct and co-ordinate therapy program implementation
  • Maintain appropriate clinical documentation using information systems
  • Coach, mentor and develop your team

The Successful Candidate:

  • Must have Current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • Demonstrated clinical occupational therapy services to care recipients
  • Ability to work in partnership with customers, their representatives, and families
  • Demonstrated expertise including clinical reasoning, in Occupational Therapy and the planning, delivery and evaluation of therapeutic programs to meet documented needs and choices of customers
  • Sound clinical judgement, skills and knowledge
  • Current National Police Clearance and Flu Shot
  • Well-developed communication skills including written and verbal
  • Excellent time management with a systematic approach to prioritising duties
  • Experience in provision of leadership and education to Allied Health staff
