About the role

Mooroolbark Residential Aged Care Service is a psychogeriatric residential facility, providing care to residents with specialized needs and is located in suburb of Mooroolbark, We are looking for an enthusiastic Nurse Unit Manager who preferably has a past experience of working in the aged care sector, particularly with residents who present with dementia and/or mental health issues. The multidisciplinary team onsite comprises of Registered and Enrolled Nurses, PCAs, Lifestyle, Physiotherapy, Administration and Hospitality Services. Other allied health services re provided as required. A General Practitioner, Geriatrician and Psychiatrist all regularly visit the site.

As Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the site - rostering, financial management, regulatory reporting and maintaining accreditation standards. You will be supported by an Associate Program Director, clinical nurse educator, quality and HR business partners and an OH&S advisor, all of whom work across the 4 Eastern Health Residential Aged Care sites.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Current registration with AHPRA (essential)

  • Recent mental health and nursing experience (within Australia)

  • Post graduate mental health qualifications (highly regarded)

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills

  • An empathetic and personable demeanour

  • A strong commitment to high quality care

  • The ability and experience to confidently lead a diverse team
