Position Summary:
A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Clinical Nurse Consultant with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. The role of the TB - Clinical Nurse Consultant will be to oversee the implementation of NSW TB Program policies, guidelines and procedures within the SVHN, and ensure program outcomes are achieved.

The successful applicant will provide expert clinical advice and consultancy to patients, carers and other health care professionals within SVH, including Parklea.

The Clinical Nurse Consultant will:

  • Develop, facilitate, implement and evaulates care management plans for patients with complex health needs.

  • Provide leadership that facilitates the ongoing development of clinical practice and initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services.

  • contribute to the development and delivery of specialty related education programs and participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.

Selection Criteria

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
2. Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

3. At least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience and in addition who has approved post registration nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she is appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney

4. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within the interdisciplinary team and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development

5. Demonstrated high level computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system

6. Demonstrated high level effective communication and interpersonal skills

7. Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse

8.Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads with in a complex environment
