Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) is the major provider of specialist health services in the Gippsland region, east of Melbourne. Our comprehensive range of services extends to emergency and intensive care, elective surgery, allied health, obstetrics, medical and radiation oncology at the Gippsland Cancer Care Centre, dialysis and aged care.

These include a cardiac catheterisation laboratory, large Emergency Department, endoscopy suites and modern and contemporary inpatient units. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and suitably qualified COVID-19 Vaccine Team Leader to join the Gippsland Region Public Health Unit (GRPHU) at Latrobe Regional Hospital on a Fixed Term basis - 6months with potential of extension. Full Time/Part Time Opportunities available.

Reporting to the Operations Manager (GRPHU)the successful applicant will play an important role in our response to COVID-19 and the delivery of COVID-19 vaccines. The Team Leader will be the first line of escalation of medical and/or operational issues for nursing staff, support staff and other COVID-19 Vaccine team members.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Provide clinical oversight and supervision of vaccinators

  • Deliver training and advice to vaccinator

  • Be the initial referral point for vaccination issues or concerns

  • Directly handle vaccinations for complex patients

  • Ensure efficient work flow and streamlined processes

  • Escalate issues to and liaise with Medical Officers and the GRPHU as required

 To be successful in this position you will need to have:

  • Qualification as Nurse Immuniser with experience in delivering immunisations

  • Proven experience in leading a team

  • Proficient knowledge of clinical processes and health care systems

  • High levels of technology literacy with ability to learn and master new reporting tools
