Aged and Disability Services Director



Location: Sydney

Area: Southern Suburbs & Sutherland Shire

Worktype: Full Time

Salary: $100,000 - $110,000 per annum


abrs is proud to be partnering exclusively with Riverwood Community Centre in their search for an Aged and Disability Services Director . 


Riverwood Community Centre is a not for profit community based neighbourhood centre in the heart of Riverwoods diverse community . RCC supports change for individuals families and community groups through a wide range of programs . They are looking for a Director of Aged Care and Disability to lead and manage across all disability aged care and services teams and be a important part of the senior management team.



The Role:

  • Deliver effective programs and activities by identifying the needs of the community or client group
  • Commit to a high standard of a person centred approach to services , social inclusion and community development principles
  • Responsible for continuous improvement and all compliance and WHS in your specific areas of responsibility 
  • Responsible for all data collection , surveys and regular reports as per the funding agreement
  • Responsible for writing all new tenders and grants and the ability to present to the board and management team 
  • Participation in the running and organisation of significant RCC events



Essential Criteria:

  1.  Demonstrated experience in an operational leadership role, in the Aged and Disability sector, where you have led and developed a team through periods of change in a positive and inclusive manner
  2. Understanding and demonstrated experience meeting the needs of people who are aging, living with a disability and their carers
  3. Understanding and knowledge in relation to contemporary reforms, legislation, and standards impacting the age and disability sector.
  4. Highly developed communication, IT, negotiation, problem-solving and analytical skills preferably an understanding of a second language.
  5. Good ability in budget development and financial oversight.
  6. Strong knowledge, understanding and engagement experience in working Communities preferably with CALD backgrounds.
  7. Proven experience in identifying, recruiting and leading volunteers, student placement and community based groups.
  8. Excellent writing and communication skills.
  9. Skills and experience in writing tenders and grants.
  10. Skills and experience in writing policy relevant to Age care sector to meet the requirements of HR and the funding body.
  11. Excellent skills in completed a regular report , expression of interest and Data for the funding body and relevant agencies.
  12.  Excellent skills in completed a regular report to the Board of director about the Age service.
  13. Current working With Children Check and willingness to undergo a Police Check.
