POSITION SUMMARY:
The COVID-19 Response team sits within the Department of Health and is responsible for key aspects of Victoria's management of the coronavirus (COVID-19), including the development and implementation of Public Health Directions, testing, contract tracing, community engagement, outbreak containment and the ongoing local delivery of the Commonwealth's vaccine immunisation program. The COVID-19 Response Communications team is a dedicated function focused on clear, concise and timely communications to the community, media and key internal and external stakeholder groups to support the overall response effort.

Reporting to the Executive Director, COVID-19 Response Communications, the Head of Media will oversee both proactive and reactive media engagement for all aspects of the COVID-19 Response effort, including the ongoing rollout of the vaccination program.

Are you

Experienced in delivering outstanding and highly effective media and issues management strategies?
Able to provide dynamic and collaborative leadership for a team of media professionals, often working at pace in a high-pressure environment?
Experienced in developing creative and engaging proactive media opportunities that will promote and support the overall COVID-19 Response effort?
