Permanent, part-time opportunity

About the role

You will be a dedicated, experienced and organised Maintenance Officer looking for a new challenge. Reporting daily to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance duties across our Residential Aged Care facility. Crows Nest Aged Care Service has expansive grounds and you will be providing lawn and garden maintenance, tree and shrub pruning, hedging, and garden refuse removal. This is permanent part-time opportunity, 60 hours a fortnight, six hours per day.

You will maintain an inventory of equipment and ensure it's in accordance with manufacturer recommendations. Along with relevant record keeping and administration, you will ensure all practises are completed in a timely manner, including all planned and programmed gardening and maintenance.

About you

You are a self-starting and driven individual who loves working collaboratively as part of a team, however, you are also capable of working on your own. You have an advanced level of interpersonal skills which allows you to liaise and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.

With your highly developed customer focus and excellent service skills you resolve gardening and maintenance issues as they arise. You have proven knowledge and physical capacity to use and maintain equipment as required by the role. Ever ready to provide support, you have a welcoming, caring and compassionate nature.

To be suited to this position ideally you will have:
Relevant trade qualifications i.e. carpentry, plumbing, electrical etc.;
Demonstrated experience in a gardener/handyman/maintenance role;
Previous experience in residential aged care, retirement living or community services environment is highly regarded;
Applied knowledge of Workplace Health & safety requirements, or ability to acquire same within one month of employment;
Ability to operate windows applications at a basic level, including the following applications: Outlook, Internet Explorer, Excel;
A current driver's licence (or ability to acquire same within 1 month of employment).

Please note, all employees working within our residential and community aged care will need to be immunised for Influenza from 01/05/2020. If you have already received your flu vaccination, we ask that you provide proof as part of the recruitment process.
