Position Summary:

The Infection Prevention Control Advice & Response (IPCAR) Senior Education Officer is responsible for overall analysis, development, design, implementation and evaluation of education and training programs. This role reports directly to the IPCAR Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Knowledge Lead within the Education & Training Pillar.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop plans for education based on IPCAR priorities.
  • Contribute to ongoing review and update the IPCAR Education and Training Plan.
  • Develop and contribute to the governance and management of IPC educational materials.
  • Coordinate and contribute to day-to-day activities for education and training programs which includes delivery to targeted priority groups.
  • Escalate need for additional resources as identified.
  • Coordinate and develop new IPCAR education and training programs.
  • Contribute to development and review of capability frameworks specific to IPC.
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders to analyse existing education offerings for potential infection prevention control gaps.
  • Coordinate and provide ongoing professional development and upskilling training programs for IPCAR staff.
  • Contribute to induction processes for IPCAR staff.
  • Identify IPC education and training needs, determine existing resources, and potential gaps, in consultation with other government departments and affiliated agencies.
  • Consult and negotiate with a wide variety of stakeholders for provision of IPC education and training programs.
  • Maintain a central repository of education and training resources Problem Solving and Judgement.
  • Ability to determine solutions based on innovative processes.
  • Excellent and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent knowledge and judgment related to adult learning principles.
  • Responsive and timely decision making to identify solutions Professional and organisational knowledge.
  • Extensive and broad range of expertise in education and training.
  • Understand the implications of budget, timeline, governance, planning and delivery outcomes to a program.

  • Line management per IPCAR governance structures.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adapt to the needs of a changing environment.
