Position Summary:
The IPCAR Project Officer is responsible for providing project assistance across the DHHS IPCAR team.

The position reports to the IPCAR Business Manager and will escalate any technical or subject matter queries to IPCAR leads as required.

The role may also require flexible working times.

Support the business and operational processes of IPCAR
Provide operational, project and executive support to the Deputy Public Health Commanders and the wider cell.
Work with IPCAR Business Manager to onboard and induct new staff
Undertake research, investigation, review and general analysis of operational issues required by the Business Manager and other Senior staff of IPCAR
Effectively manage and develop processes and systems that ensure efficient information management and flow in and out of IPCAR
Expand and maintain a sound understanding of government processes and compliance obligations, political sensitivities and the complexities of the current operating environment
Plan and organise relevant tasks to support corporate service delivery needs including invoicing and processing of purchase orders
Build and manage collaborative and cooperative stakeholder relationships across the Department and wider government group
Provide project support as required across IPCAR streams or as directed by Senior IPCAR staff
Keep accurate and complete records of work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
Assist in budget build processes and development
Assist business manager in preparation of financial briefing documents for Executive Director

Level of Supervision/Independence

Work independently and as part of a team
Routine line management is through the IPCAR Business Manager

Problem Solving and Judgement

The IPCAR Project Officer will have sound business acumen incorporating skills, knowledge, confidentiality and sensitivity
Prepares technical reports at an advanced professional level


Assist the Business Manager in ensuring the IPCAR physical environment is suitable and in keeping with government COVID-19 guidelines.
Assist in response to logistics queries from staff and find solutions in keeping with DHHS processes and procedures, escalating as necessary
