Your new team

  • You will work alongside another experienced dietitian in Diabetes and Endocrinology

  • You will work closely with both Melbourne Health endocrinologists and also Clinical dietitians working at the acute campus of The Royal Melbourne Hospital

  • The clinical work with Diabetes and Endocrinology involves attendance at Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes clinics, Young Adults Transition Clinic and also a specialised Bariatric Medicine clinic with the endocrinologists

  • Within the Clinical Nutrition team in addition to being involved in the specialised Inpatient Diabetes service you will lead the team of junior dietitians in General Medicine and be involved in the complex cases of General Medicine which includes acutely unwell, medically unstable eating Disorder patients and malnourished patients

  • There will be plenty of opportunity to be involved in Research and Quality. The Clinical Nutrition Department and Diabetes and Endocrinology are both very active in these areas.

  • The Clinical Nutrition Department is a clinical school of La Trobe University for the training of dietetic students.

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

  • Be a leading clinical role within the Department of Diabetes & Endocrinology, Clinical Nutrition, Melbourne Health

  • Provide expert advice in areas of complex clinical care across a variety of settings encompassing Diabetes & Endocrinology ambulatory and inpatient care

  • Apply Models Evidence Based Practice (EBP) principles to ensure that these are embedded in areas of clinical expertise and more broadly, to Allied Health practices within MH

Your Contribution

  • Grade 4 (minimum10 years clinical experience ) or Grade 3 Dietitian

  • Completion or completing a Higher degree

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to provide expert clinical service and supervision

  • Capacity to engage and provide leadership in matters relating to research, including grant applications, scientific publications and oral and poster presentation
