Psychologist - Northern Psychiatric Unit

  • Northern Area Mental Health Service (NAMHS) is looking for an experienced Psychologist to join the Northern Psychiatry and NAMHS team

  • Fixed term contract until end of September 2021 part time (.8EFT) position available

  • Based in NAMHS Northern Psychiatry Unit, Northern Hospital Epping

Your new team:

  • At NAMHS Northern Psychiatry Unit you will find an enthusiastic, friendly, professional group of clinicians of various disciplines. 

  • We work hard and we work well as a team in a fast paced environment.

  • Psychologists within NAMHS are well supported professionally with access to regular supervision, professional development and communities of practice.

  • Arrange a site visit and chat with us over a coffee. Once you have seen our service and spoken to our some of our wonderful team members, you will want to be part of something special and help us make a difference

Your success in these role, will be in your ability to:

  • Provide specialist psychological assessments, interventions and groups to young people and adult consumers and their families to achieve positive outcomes

  • Coordinate and capacity build multidisciplinary staff to support the utilisation of psychological assessments at NPU

  • Work closely with our Grade 3 Psychologist

  • Work closely with the NPU team, sharing your clinical expertise and support quality initiatives and research

Your Contribution:

  • Expertise in developing and delivering interventions with consumers who have experienced serious mental illness and have complex mental health needs

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong clinical leadership skills and ability to contribute effectively to a multidisciplinary team

  • Genuine commitment to embedding recovery principles and trauma informed care into practice
