Based in Osbourne Park, Perth
4 weeks annual leave with the option to purchase and extra 2 weeks

The opportunity

The Silver Chain Allied Health team has a management opportunity. You will be a registered Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with a passion for community services and with the skills to lead a team of 30+ in our country regions of WA.

Working closely with the Head of Allied Health and Specialist Services you will be required to implement and facilitate service improvement and identify opportunities for program growth and development. Part of that will include ensuring sustainable service delivery models are established and maintained. Being a not for profit it is vital that you manage resources efficiently and effectively to complement the strategic direction of Silver Chain and our client’s needs.

You will lead, supervise and support an interdisciplinary team of Allied Health Professionals, to achieve and maintain quality clinical practice and standards and provide clinical advice, support and education in support of best practice and quality clinical care for clients within the community.

You will also have strong interpersonal skills so you can continue developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders across your portfolio.

Key responsibilities

Lead, supervise, manage and support an interdisciplinary clinical team
Ensure best practice across your portfolio
Comply with requirements set out by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
Manage service delivery within the delegated program to meet client needs, achieve cost and volume targets, promote new business and comply with policy, procedures and contractual obligations.
Lead and monitor clinical practice and provide or co-ordinate clinical advice, support and education to clinical staff.
Guide developments in clinical practice and identify and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
Build and maintain relationships and network with internal and external parties to promote Silver Chain’s services and create partnerships
Recommend, support and manage the implementation of new or changed clinical practices and initiatives to ensure successful client outcomes.
Work with and support teams to achieve operational objectives.
Respond to client and employee queries and complaints
Collaborate across Aged Community Care and Health to ensure effective outcomes for programs, incident management and client care.

About you

AHPRA Registered Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist
Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, manage and support interdisciplinary clinical teams
Knowledge and understanding of equipment and home modifications
Experience managing a team and be able to travel when required
Previous experience in a community based clinical role and an understanding of the scope of practice.
A demonstrated understanding of aged care, community and health care
Highly developed communication (written, verbal and listening) and interpersonal skills in order to develop effective relationships and communicate at all levels and with teams who are based remotely.
Demonstrated analytical skills to identify risk and make recommendations for change.
The ability to work autonomously whilst maintaining team focus in order to participate and contribute to project teams, committees and business unit objectives.
Demonstrated passion for reablement and restorative care
A current Australian Driver’s Licence.
The ability to obtain a satisfactory National Police Certificate.

Under the Aged Care act 1997, successful candidates will be required to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance prior to commencement.
