Australian Unity is launching a new Disability Services business unit that is dedicated to bringing real wellbeing to Australians with disability. We recognise that disability customers have bespoke needs. We want to help ensure that our disability customers have an exceptional experience; this means specialised care, service offerings that are relevant to their needs and ways to be supported that are easy, engaging and effective.

Working as part of a dedicated Disability Services Team you will deliver person centred care to our Disability customers. You will give people with a disability confidence in the quality of service delivery and ensure all services meet, as a minimum, the national standards for disability services.

We have multiple exciting opportunities based in Western NSW - Richmond, Castle Hill , Merrylands, Springwoods, Quakers Hill, and surrounding suburbs.

As a Care Worker you will:
  • Support our disability customers with activities of daily living
  • Assist customers with personal care support including showering, toileting and feeding assistance
  • Provide support with complex care activities including bowel care, urinary care and skin care
  • Provide transportation for your customers to appointments and for shopping and leisure activities
  • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with customers and their families
  • Maintain a focus on your own and the customers' safety and adhere to all health and safety guidelines and policies
About You:
  • You will have a proven, deep experience in caring for people with complex disability.
  • Previous experience working within a person-centred care role
  • You are passionate person and strive for building awareness and making positive difference to our customers' wellbeing.
  • Holds certificate III or IV in individual support or Aged Care or Disability Care.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts and rosters (early morning or late evening preferred).
  • A current Australian Driver's Licence and access to a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle
Applicants must have the right to work in Australia and will be required to complete various background checks including police background check, working with children and national disability worker screening. Applicants will also need to undertake a functional assessment.
