• This is an exciting new practice within a group of busy GP Medical Centres based in both the North Eastern and Western suburbs of Adelaide.

• The community we service is in a large and varied demographic as well as culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD).

• There is a fabulous, friendly and dedicated team of admin staff, nurses, doctors and allied specialists in the centre providing coordinated healthcare, support and medical advice to over 25,000 patients in the local area.

• Some of the healthcare services to patients, include; General health and wellbeing, Aged Care, Children's health, Chronic disease management, Diet and lifestyle advice, Family medicine, Sports medicine and Work/MVA Injuries.


Additionally, the centre has visiting specialists in the areas of geriatrics, endocrinology, surgical paediatrics, obesity management, and pain management. Located within the premises, other available healthcare services include audiology, dentist, pharmacy, pathology, radiology, optometrist, podiatrist, physiotherapy, diabetes educator, dietitians. Further, in Western Suburbs The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Western Community Mental Health is just a short distance from our practice.


About the Role:

This clinical mental health position can offer you flexibility in terms of employment;

The position requires you:

• To engage in a range of diverse and rewarding clinical work.

• Provide psychological services to a caseload of children, adolescents and/or adults however you can choose your area.

• To provide face to face counselling services as well as over the telephone (Telehealth).

• To be willing to run groups (training can be provided).

• To work within a supportive and collaborative team environment in an organisation where you can grow your long term career.

• To meet medicare and other legislation, policy and procedures requirements.

• Engage with stakeholders/referrers.

• Provide letters and reports to referrers (where applicable).

Essential Criteria Clinical Psychologist:

• Doctoral or Masters level qualifications in Clinical Psychology.

• General registration with AHPRA (or eligibility for same).

• AHPRA approved endorsement in the area of Clinical Psychology (or willingness to undertake the endorsement process).

• Professional Indemnity Insurance.

• Eligible to apply for a Medicare Provider Number.


Essential Criteria Psychologist/Social Worker:

• 4 Year Degree in Psychology or

• 4 Year Degree in Social Work or equivalent.

• Have current registration with the relevant Registration Board.

• Social Workers to be assessed by AASW as meeting the requirements for Accreditation as a Mental Health Social Worker

• Professional Indemnity Insurance.

• Eligible to apply for a Medicare Provider Number.


Generally: 

• Experience in the delivery of individual counselling.(telephone and face to face).

• Willing to run group workshops.

• Well-developed consultation skills to work within a multi–professional team. 

• You have knowledge and experience in managing mental health issues. 

• Able to risk manage and liaise with appropriate mental health services.

• Making a significant difference to a community is important to you.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and interpersonal.

• Ability to design and apply appropriate treatment/therapy plan utilising best evidence therapies.

• Time management skills and the ability to be self-motivated.

• Commitment to ongoing professional development.

• Ability to work autonomously and also as part of a team.


Special Conditions:

• Successful applicant will be required to hold a National Police Check (NPC).

• Working with children check.

• Satisfactorily complete an Employment-related Screening.
