Eventide Residential Aged Care Facility comprises of 110 residential aged care beds (Commonwealth funded) and self-managed hostel services. Eventide consist of specific units relating to older persons' mental health, secure dementia and high care older persons'. Eventide has a commitment to providing safe and quality care to care recipients in a home like environment, while meeting the Australian Aged Care Agency - Accreditation Standards and the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards Accreditation.

About your opportunity
This role will provide operational services in the delivery of Catering, Cleaning, Patient Handling, Linen and Waste Services in a hospital and aged care environment.

Role requirements

Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD): Health Care Workers in Queensland Health whose occupation poses a potential risk of exposure to blood or body fluids are required to provide evidence of vaccinations or proof that they are not susceptible (due to prior exposure to the disease and therefore have natural immunity) to the following VPD's Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis containing vaccine) according to the Queensland Health Policy.
Aged Care Pre- Employment Screening - Potential applicants for this position are advised that before an applicant can be appointed, Section 63-1A of the Aged Care Act 1997 requires Queensland Health employees and volunteers to have a current National Police Certificate. Queensland Health will facilitate applicants obtaining the above check.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Screening Check - As a Health Care worker in Queensland Health who engages in risk-assessed roles, you must hold a current disability check (Yellow Card or Yellow Card Exemption) or an NDIS worker screening check, in accordance with Part 5 of the Disability Services Act 2006 (Qld).
Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
This position from time to time will be required to work at other facilities located across the Rural Hospitals Service Group facilities and Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

Demonstrated effectiveness to perform a range of duties in the delivery of Catering, Cleaning, Patient Handling, Linen and Waste Services in a hospital and aged care environments in accordance with the Queensland Health Infection Control Guidelines.
Ability to carry out duties as a team member and with minimal supervision, prioritising work to ensure deadlines is met in a changing work environment where quality is the main focus.
Demonstrated high level of customer service skill, displaying honesty, integrity and respect for all patients, visitors and staff.
Basic understanding of, or ability to acquire knowledge of Human Resource Management issues, including Workplace Health and Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity and Anti-Discrimination.

Generous remuneration package comprising salary range of $32.83 to $35.60 p.h. (OO2), 12.75 % employer contribution to superannuation.
