JOB DESCRIPTION

Not only is Mercy Community experiencing rapid growth, we are embarking on an exciting transformation program that is designed to position the organisation for the future and ensure that we remain sustainable and focused on delivering value to those in need. To support this, you will be instrumental in supporting therapeutic intervention for children and young people in statutory care, risk management and provision of leadership in complex case matters. You will also be instrumental in the implementation of continuous improvement and enhancement strategies across our Residential Care and Transition Services portfolio. The Role…

Reporting to the Regional Director, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership and management in the provision of services and development of the program/s
  • Demonstrate accountability for resources within the programs, including staffing, physical resources and monetary resources
  • Proactively manage professional working relationships with the Funding Body, relevant government Departments and other non-Government sector partners
  • Engage in continuous improvement practices by seeking feedback from clients, funding bodies and other relevant stakeholders
  • Prepare reporting against service agreements and participate in the negotiation of contracts, funding arrangements and service agreements
  • Contribute to the development of service budgets and monitor financial performance
  • Lead and contribute to key projects including identifying and preparing proposals for program growth and funding opportunities
  • Lead, mentor, support and supervise staff and take responsibility for key hiring decisions, along with facilitating onboarding and induction processes
  • Assist with monitoring of compliance with policy, procedures, work instructions, and other organisational and legislative requirements
About You…

To be successful in the role you will possess tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline and have experience within the statutory child protection system. You will have at least 3 years’ experience in providing strategic and operational leadership within a social welfare context, inclusive of team supervision, financial management and conflict resolution. An understanding of residential care and child protection settings will be highly desirable.

You will have strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to build collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. You will possess experience in a management role whereby you have provided oversight to enable the effective planning and execution of programs within agreed financial, quality and time parameters. Your ability to mobilise resources, deal with complexities and work seamlessly between client engagement, staff support and administrative requirements will be key to your success.
