About The Role

Support workers are a vital part of providing vulnerable people with care and are able to radically improve their quality of life. Support workers assist individuals who are unable to live independently by offering them the practical help they need as well as emotional support. Our clients live in many areas within Melbourne Eastern Suburbs, Western Suburbs, Northern Suburbs, Southern Suburbs and Inner Suburbs

The following are the Duties & Responsibilities of a Support Worker:

  • Transport people with a disability to and from community activities as required
  • indirect support activities and record keeping including reviews and reports
  • Accompanying aged and disabled persons during daily activities
  • Assists clients with their mobility
  • Prepare meals for clients
  • Arrange social activities
  • Perform housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming and cleaning
  • Assists in personal hygiene (such as showering, etc.) and dressing
  • Provide companionship, friendship and emotional support
  • Help with their daily shopping and errands

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and qualified disability support worker who share our passion for delivering quality client centered services to significantly improve the lives of the vulnerable people in our community.

About You
  • Excellent at providing quality services
  • Passionate about making a difference in the lives of people with a disability
  • Experience working with clients (1 on 1) in a Day Service or in the community (highly desirable)
  • Preferred 1-year minimum experience as a Disability Support worker or relevant field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualification And Relevant Documents Needed For This Position
  • Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015)
  • Certificate II in Community Services
  • Certificate IV in Disability
  • Certificate IV in Ageing Support
  • Current police check (less than 6 months old);
  • Working with Children Check;
  • Current First Aid level 2;
  • Current CPR (annual);
  • Manual handling training;
  • Administration of medication training;
  • International police check (if applicable);
  • Consent to a DWES check
