Location: Casey Hospital in Berwick

Permanent Part Time – 12 hours per week (6am-12pm Mon & Tues) + a rotating Saturday shift (6am-11am) every 3 weeks

Health & Allied Services Enterprise Agreement – HK6 ($24.02 p/h) / HK19 ($24.49 p/h after 3 months)

The Warragul Linen Service (WLS) is a business unit of the West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG) and are among the leading linen service providers to major public hospitals and aged care facilities across Metropolitan Melbourne and surrounds. Our head office and industrial laundry plant is situated in the regional town of Warragul (behind the West Gippsland Hospital).

WLS have a number of in-house Linen Distribution teams located within hospital across Melbourne and surrounds. We are currently seeking a candidate to act as a Linen Distributor two days per week at Casey Hospital (Berwick).

The role holder will also be rostered onto a rotating Saturday shift – and will be required to work this shift once every 3 weeks. The role holder will also have the opportunity to pick up additional leave cover shifts across the year.

Major tasks include:

  • Transportation of clean linen throughout these hospitals
  • Delivery of linen orders in line with contract terms and conditions
  • Stock-take and replenishment as required, using imprest systems
  • Completion of requisitions and additional documentation as required

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a manual handling role on one’s feet
  • Ability to cooperate and work independently and/or in a team environment
  • A history of punctuality and solid attendance
  • Accurate recording skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Well organised and able to manage own workload

Please note: Uniforms and protective clothing are provided. This role involves manual handling tasks, including lifting and pushing. Own transport required to get to and from work.

All appointments with WGHG are subject to the satisfactory return of professional reference checks, a National Police Record Clearance and a current Employee Working with Children Check. All employees must hold current entitlement to work within Australia. A six-month probationary period applies to all new appointments.
