Position Summary:
Provide overall epidemiological oversight to the Cohorts Pod Leads, epidemiologists and other team members.

Design, oversee and conduct epidemiological analysis relating to specific high-risk population groups/settings within the scope of the Cohorts Pods.

Contribute to the surveillance and reporting of active cases, contacts, and outbreaks across Victoria.

Coordinate and manage the functions performed by the Cohorts Pods.

Lead a team of epidemiologists and project leads in the design and conduct of epidemiological analyses to inform COVID-19 prevention and control efforts.
Contribute to the surveillance and reporting of cases, contacts and outbreaks across Victoria from the Cohorts Pods to the wider DIME team and response.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure all DIME activities are properly planned and delivered.
Provide epidemiological advice and reporting to the Director, Investigation and Analysis and to CCOM Leadership to inform and support COVID-19 outbreak management.
Decision making and resolution of operational issues escalated by Pod Leads, and escalation of issues as necessary.
Monitor team performance, resolve and escalate issues as necessary.
With assistance of reporting expertise from across the DIME team, develop and oversee reporting and categorisation of key cohorts (population groups/settings at risk of COVID, for example healthcare workers and residential aged care facilities).
Design and oversee epidemiological analysis of cases, contacts, and outbreaks to inform and support COVID-19 surveillance in Victoria.
Liaise closely and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to optimise the operations of the Cohorts Pods and improve reach and relevance of epidemiological products.
Oversee and update documentation (e.g. Standard Operating Procedures) relevant to the Cohorts Epidemiologists to ensure they are up to date and complete.
Work closely with the Cohorts Pod Leads to design and implement robust epidemiological analysis and reporting tools to support COVID-19 outbreak management.
Actively participate in and Investigation and Analysis Team meetings.
