Bethanie, Western Australia’s leading not for profit aged care and retirement living provider, has been warmly welcoming and caring for seniors for over 65 years. We strive to lead the change in the way Australians think about ageing, recognising ‘old age’ as a positive force in society and giving a voice to those who have seen it all and live to tell the tale.

We currently have a vacancy at Bethanie Elanora Aged Care Home in Bunbury for an experienced Clinical Nurse on full time basis. This role is offered on an initial two year fixed term period, with the possibility of extension or permanency.

As a key member of the leadership team, we are looking for someone who is available to work a roster including weekends, however this is negotiable for the right applicant and will be discussed further at interview.

  • Effective coordination of nursing and care staff to best meet care outcomes
  • Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols and procedures designed to prevent infection transmission in the workplace
  • Analyse clinical outcomes and provide timely feedback on improvement strategies for the care team
  • Active participation in mentorship and training (including teaching and supervising delegated tasks to other staff, including care staff and students)
  • Support the Facility Manager, with the ability to relieve on occasion
  • Bachelor of Nursing plus relevant post graduate qualification to the level of post-graduate diploma or above
  • At least two years’ experience in a residential aged care environment and knowledge of ACFI documentation
  • Evidence of relevant recency of practice (eg. aged care, dementia, palliative, restorative care)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia’s Registered Nurse Standards for Professional Practice & Nurses Code of Conduct
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements of residential aged care including the current Aged Care Act, Quality of Care Principles, Medicines and Poisons Act and Occupational Safety and Health Act
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of clinical risk reporting and data analysis
  • Working knowledge of accreditation standards, funding tools and relevant legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both verbal and written form
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and evaluate care plans
  • Knowledge of and experience with ACFI documentation
  • Demonstrated ability to provide meaningful leadership within the facilities leading to excellent clinical outcomes
  • Willingness to uphold the vision, mission and values of The Bethanie Group
  • A current police clearance, or willingness to get one
