What You'll Be Doing

The primary purpose of the position is to provide quality care to patients in a complex clinical environment.
Medical Officers will work under an appropriate level of supervision according to their level of competence to evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients of all ages presenting in any condition and will work in a variety of Inpatient and Outpatient settings.

You will be employed by Southern NSW Local Health District. The position is primarily located at Queanbeyan. Secondary appointments within other facilities may occur by mutual agreement.

Selection Criteria

  • Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, including providing leadership and direction to ensure appropriate management of patients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgement and expertise, with demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
  • Demonstrated time management, problem solving skills and excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and computer skills.
  • Evidence of continued professional development and commitment to self-education.
  • Demonstrated professional attitude and flexibility in work role with a preparedness and ability to participate in after-hours overtime and on-call rosters.
