About the Role

This position is responsible for the maintenance and appearance of the building fabric, both internally and externally. This is a hands on position that will require a skilled handyperson to perform all types of general repair and installation tasks as directed, subject to the skills and abilities of the employee.

This position will entail performing duties of a similar nature at other Monash Health Sites.

Carry out compliance and improvement against the key elements of quality and safety

Be responsible for quality of care at work site

Coordination of works for direct reports (other handypersons)

Conducts a regular inspection of the building fabric to prioritise maintenance effort

Maintain a building surfaces condition register

Respond to client maintenance requests

Utilise PULSE software for work management and reporting

Ensure that statutory and OH&S regulations and requirements are carried out in accordance with the Maintenance Coordinator’s instructions.

Organise and maintain the handyperson workshop such that it is safe and appropriate to implement the works, including ordering and receiving of materials.

This is a multi-disciplinary role, undertaking minor repairs, painting and maintenance as directed.

About You

Participate and co-operate in consultative processes to improve health and safety.

Observe safe working practices and as far as you are able, protect your own and others’ health and safety.

Complete all necessary personal training and professional development requirements.

What You Need:
Qualifications/ registrations/ licences:
Relevant trade qualifications (carpentry/painter/locksmith or similar)

Motor car drivers licence

Technical skills/ knowledge / experience

Competency in a similar role

Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills

Computer usage skills

Ability to prioritise work and adapt to fluctuating workloads

Previous maintenance experience preferably in hospitals or commercial

Australian working rights
