Formed in 1998, Barwon Health is one of the largest and most comprehensive regional health services in Australia. We are Victoria’s largest regional health service with one of the busiest hospitals in the state, University Hospital Geelong. Barwon Health is the major regional health provider for the Barwon South West Region, serving over 500,000 people across a geographically dispersed area.

Barwon Health provides care at all stages of life and circumstances through a wide range of services across primary care, community services, aged care, subacute/rehabilitation medicine, mental health network, emergency medicine and acute medicine services. With the exception of neurosurgery and transplantation services, virtually all other specialties are available through the University Hospital Geelong. About the Role

Applications are invited for anaesthesia trainees or provisional fellows to join our friendly and supportive department. The department currently employs 21 full-time and 26 part-time anaesthetic consultants and 20 anaesthetic registrars (ranging from BTY1 trainees through to provisional fellowship). Exact starting date in 2021 TBC.

The department supports a wide range of clinical anaesthetic services including regional anaesthesia and ultrasound, obstetric and paediatric services, cardiac anaesthesia (including transoesophageal echocardiography) and a benchmark perioperative service. The department has a strong commitment to excellence in clinical, education and research activities and a strong focus on preparing senior trainees for consultant practice.

Applicants must be ANZCA accredited or eligible.
