Are you a Social Worker with experience in Mental Health and enjoy working with the elderly? This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Level 1/2 social worker alongside a great team of nurses and allied health professionals and a supportive and innovative team to provide quality care to members of the community aged 65 years or older with mental illness.

What you'll be doing

To provide Social Work Services to inpatients and community based clients of the Aged Care Psychiatry Service, their families and carers, to undertake community work to respond to the needs of older people with complex mental health needs and cognitive decline and to promote physical, social and psychological wellbeing of clients, their families and carers.

Selection Criteria

  1. Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Services Health Professionals (State) Award and eligibility for membership of AASW
  2. Demonstrated core competency skills and experience in working as a social worker with older people and/ or in mental health.
  3. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to proactively engage with clients to enhance service delivery
  4. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters, commensurate with years of experience
  5. Computer skills and the capacity to use health information systems
  6. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and evidence based practice and a commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning
  7. Drivers Licence
