Role: Senior Data Manager (until 31 Decemeber 2021)

Position Summary:

Responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of data relating to COVID-19 outbreaks in Victoria.

Provide ongoing leadership, advice and operational support in relation to the management of data fields in CRM pertaining to outbreak COVID19 outbreaks.


  • Oversee and manage daily data cleaning processes.
  • Oversee the creation and upgrade of exposure sites.
  • Manage data tasks assigned to Surveillance Officers and provide general supervision and guidance regarding their work activities.
  • Training of new Surveillance Officers.
  • Ongoing development and documentation of processes.
  • Outbreak closure activities including the development of key processes and the overall tracking of task to completion.
  • Liaising with Report Development team to manage R code and Power Bi outputs.
  • Team task tracking and coordination including the identification of new projects and initiatives.
  • Allocation of owners to projects and tasks.
  • Develop clear timeframes for tasks and ensure adherence to those timeframes.
  • Project governance and documentation to track projects undertaken by the Locations team.
  • Establish and document general governance for the Locations team by formalising existing processes and creating new processes where needed.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in COVID-19 outbreaks data.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to epidemiologists in the use of the CRM.
  • Identify data-related risks to ongoing Epidemiology & Investigation tasks.
  • Assist in training the team and developing process guides (i.e. SOP's) for the CRM.
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for data and information on outbreaks from both internal COVID 19 response teams and external stakeholders.
