About the role 

Barwon Health are recruiting for a Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unaccredited Registrar for 2021. As the Unaccredited Registrar you will be required to provide safe and effective supervised clinical management of patients within the Women’s Services division, inclusive of assessment, admission, management, investigation and discharge.

Duties for this position include but are not limited to:

Obstetric Management:

  • Managing normal and abnormal pregnancy and labour, including complications.

  • Assessing pregnant women by physical examination including speculum examination, bimanual pelvic examination and ultrasound examination.

  • Performing obstetric procedures including: application of scalp electrode, CTG interpretation, rupture of membranes, instrumental delivery and caesarean section, episiotomy and perineal repair.

  • Managing obstetric emergencies including but not limited to management of preeclampsia, fetal distress, instrumental delivery, postpartum haemorrhage

Gynaecology Management:

  • Completing daily ward rounds and patient review as required.

  • Undertaking where required, a gynaecological examination including speculum examination, bimanual pelvic examination, and PAP smear testing.

  • Providing management of acute emergency gynaecology including menorrhagia, ectopic pregnancy and incomplete miscarriage.

  • Providing inpatient post-operative management following gynaecological surgery.
