JOB DESCRIPTION

The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of Victorians into the future. We also lead the Victorian Government's response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Role: Senior Modeller( until 31 December 2021)

Position Summary:

Develop and maintain infectious diseases agent-based models.

Perform complex analytical tasks using health datasets.

Co-ordination with other teams inside DIME and across the department

Maintaining clear line of oversight over projects underway in Modelling and Analytics

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and oversee the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives
  • Lead research, analysis and implementation of complex projects based on defined outcomes and outputs
  • Manage and oversee projects and be accountable for the successful delivery and completion of the projects/sub-projects within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters
  • Monitor and evaluate projects to ensure departmental objectives are met
  • Provide leadership, guidance and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholder and prepare and present detailed, comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex matters
  • Proactively build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements
  • Lead and manage staff, providing project management leadership, expert advice and guidance to team members, including the planning, delegation and quality assurance of work, management of performance and mentoring of staff.
