About the Opportunity

  • Unique opportunity to manage two small, remote health services - the Wilcannia Multi Purpose Service and White Cliffs Health Service
  • Work closely with the Royal Flying Doctor Service and Maari Ma
  • The Wilcannia Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) has a 24-hour 2 bed emergency department and 8 residential aged care beds
  • White Cliffs operates as a Primary Health Clinic with in hours emergency service and emergency services after hours on call

Selection Criteria * Current nursing registration (as well preferably as a midwife) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Appropriate qualifications in management from Post Graduate to tertiary (Masters level) or working towards same.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation, and the ability to motivate, inspire and manage staff to achieve service and professional goals through recognised change management processes.
  • Proven ability to function effectively as part of a senior management team and to work successfully with other professionals and disciplines in the management of health care services.
  • Broad clinical experience and operational management expertise at a senior level within a health care environment, including strategic planning, the development, implementation & evaluation of organisational Strategic & Business Plans and Project Management.
  • Evidence of successful achievement in financial management & the ability to develop financial efficiency strategies and achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the role, function & funding of public hospital within the Australian and NSW Health Systems.
