JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking applications for Support Workers - Domestic Assistance to join our Aged and Disability Services team operating in Rockingham, Kwinana and surrounds. You will work alongside customers with varying needs to provide tailored person-centred services which enable them to remain living in the comfort of their own home.

In this varied role, you may be responsible for activities that can include:

  • Helping with domestic assistance/household tasks;
  • Ensuring all allocated living areas are kept clean, tidy and safe;
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping areas covered in the domestic support plan;
  • Assisting with laundry and ironing as required;
  • Reading support plans to ensure that tasks completed will meet the customer’s needs;
  • Record and document services provided as required.

Essential Criteria:

  • Willing and able to provide domestic assistance services; 
  • Enthusiastic and engaging with customers; 
  • Excellent verbal communication to interact with a diverse range of customers, their families, carers, community agencies and other professionals;
  • Understanding of professional boundaries and privacy and confidentiality issues;
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team; 
  • Good written communication, computer & mobile device skills;
  • A proactive approach to the safety and well being of yourself and customers;
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence with no restrictions;
  • Reliable and roadworthy motor vehicle to travel between customers homes';
  • Comprehensive motor vehicle insurance and registration;
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to apply before commencing);
  • Current First Aid Certificate with 12 months or less currency (or willing to apply);
  • Monday to Friday 9am - 3pm (can be flexible to suit school hours). Job share can be considered for people available at least two days a week. 

Desirable: 

  • Minimum Certificate III in Aged Care, Disability, Individual Support or other relevant qualification (or working towards obtaining qualification within 12 months) and/or relevant experience working with customers who are aged or with a disability;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people with diverse needs and preferences;
