We are now looking for a number of Disability Support Workers to work closely with our valued Prestige clients based in Sydney

Due to the exceptional support provided by our nurses and carers, Prestige Inhome Care continues to succeed as an in-home support organisation of choice. Due to this success, we are now looking for a number of Disability Support Workers (DSW) on an ongoing basis, to work with some of our highly valued Prestige clients across Sydney.

Prestige Inhome Care is a private provider of high quality home-based care services. We have established offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Geelong. The service we offer at Prestige Inhome Care is meaningful not only to our clients, but our client’s families. All our carers understand that knowing how a client enjoys their cup of tea, is just as important as the personal care. Our Nurses and Personal Care Attendants are committed to helping people live happily and safely in their own homes for as long as possible.

The role of a DSW with Prestige Inhome Care exists to support clients with activities of daily living, light domestic duties, access to the community and respite, all based around ensuring clients can live independently in their own home.

Your daily responsibilities may include:
  • Personal care - showering, dressing, oral care, toileting
  • Transportation - appointments and events (you will require a current drivers license, reliable vehicle and comprehensive care insurance)
  • Home duties - cleaning, making beds, assisting with laundry
  • Socialisation - events, appointments and errands
  • Accessibility - positioning into chairs, wheelchairs, beds

You are not easily flustered and remain calm and collected in all sorts of situations. You enjoy being productive, reliable and know how to get your point across to be understood, and you easily understand others.

After having met you, people remember the way you made them feel. This is due to your natural warmth and the fact that you are a good listener.

To be successful for this role, you must demonstrate the following:
  • Minimum 6 months experience in personal care or Cert IV Disability or Cert III Aged Care/Individual Support/Disability Support
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Prepared to take on transport shifts and have a current driver’s licence, a reliable roadworthy vehicle and full comprehensive car insurance
  • Proactive and able to think on your feet
  • Experience working with clients who have challenging behaviours or clients that may require palliative care, highly desirable but not essential
We understand that the quality of our services and the outcomes for our clients are only as good as the staff providing this support. If you are a dedicated care worker committed to helping people live happily and safely in their homes for as long as possible, we would love to hear from you!

Please contact Kelly Sullivan on 1300 10 30 10 with questions about this opportunity. Our recruitment process requires to you hold a clear National Crime Check. Police check outcomes are considered in accordance with applicable legislation and standards. Furthermore, all applicants must have the right to work in Australia
