About the role

Every day is new and different for a Registered Nurse at Clive Burdeu Aged Care Service, Hillcrest. Working closely with the Care Manager and our Allied health professionals, you will enjoy engaging with our much loved residents as you evaluate their care needs.

Throughout your varied day, you will have the opportunity to assist residents with services that enrich their daily living. With your guidance of other care staff, along with your passion for the elderly, you will ensure that care plan requirements are thoroughly and lovingly undertaken for each resident.

Some of the residents you will look after for years to come and the relationships you build with them and their families will be both meaningful and significant.

These casual opportunities will be required to work a variety of shifts including morning, evening and nights. If you are looking for a diverse and rewarding role that has a positive impact on the lives of seniors, this might be the right opportunity for you.

About you

You have a natural empathy for the elderly and are drawn to this line of work. With the ability to prioritise and manage workloads according to resident's needs, you are also able to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplined work team.

You understand the emotions an elderly person may struggle with as they face new realities, and can offer your support to help them through challenging times. You can effectively communicate at all levels enabling you to achieve best nursing practices in accordance with legislation, common law and quality improvement. Understanding the importance of providing quality care to our residents, you feel rewarded by creating a genuine impact.

Your experience and qualifications for the role should include:

  • A current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse with experience in clinical nursing practices;
  • A minimum of two years' experience in an Aged Care setting;
  • Demonstrated comprehensive clinical experience within Aged Care and understanding of the ageing process and age related health issues is desirable;
  • Knowledge and ability to apply the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI) and regulatory requirements for aged care facilities;
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts, including morning, evening and night shifts;
  • Intermediate computer skills.

Please note, all employees working within our residential and community aged care will need to be immunised for Influenza from 01/05/2020. If you have already received your flu vaccination, we ask that you provide proof as part of the recruitment process.
