Your role

This excellent opportunity is positioned within our Property business of the Wealth & Capital Markets platform. Australian Unity actively manages more than $4 billion in commercial property assets; including the listed Australian Unity Office Fund, unlisted funds in healthcare and commercial property as well as commercial and development debt funding.

Australian Unity is the Master Developer of the $1.1 billion redevelopment of the Herston Quarter healthcare precinct in Brisbane. This project is set to provide Queenslanders with access to state-of-the-art health, hospital and aged care services, as well as creating international standard research and educational facilities.

The General Manager, STARS is a key, strategic role within the Australian Unity Healthcare Property Trust (HPT). The position is principally responsible for overseeing all facility, financial, property management, risk and compliance obligations relating to Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS). Additionally, accountable for the overall asset optimisation, development and management of STARS inclusive of administration, operations, financial and leasing requirements. The General Manager acts as Project Co Delegate under instruction from the Project Co Representative.

The role is responsible for maximising both income and capital property returns for STARS via execution of contractual agreements and business plans. It is the primary day to day investment management between HPT, the tenant/s and external stakeholders and leads the STARS Investment Management team, acting as Project Co Delegate.

Over time, the position may expand to include other assets of the HPT property portfolio. As a result, providing strategic input and analysis in assessing other opportunities may be required.

Extensive commercial and financial management experience on complex PPP arrangements
Expert communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills coupled with well-developed and practiced capabilities in consultant and contract management
High level of technical expertise, with a focus on contract, commercial, legal and financial frameworks
Proven ability to pre-empt and manage associated risks
