Position Summary:
A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Workforce Manager with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team.

The Workforce Manager is responsible for managing the efficient and effective operation of the recruitment and workforce transactions service and specialised Aboriginal programs in close collaboration with the St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney (Network) senior managers delivering a high level of customer service and stakeholder engagement.

As a senior member of the broader People & Culture team reporting directly to Director of People & Culture, the Workforce Manager is to provide leadership, strategic direction and guidance in the development, integration, review and co-ordination of recruitment, workforce transactions and compliance within a supported self-service business partnering model. The position plays a pivotal role in managing organisational change through workforce and strategic planning, policies and programs and initiatives.

The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only.

Selection Criteria

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia

  • Tertiary qualifications (business, commerce, human resources management or other relevant discipline) and/or equivalent work experience or a combination of both

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, lead, motivate and manage a professional team in the provision of the full range of workforce services across a diverse business environment.

  • Experience in active stakeholder engagement, communication and education demonstrating strong verbal and written communication, negotiation and people management skills and ability maintain a high level of customer service and business partnership approach.

  • Demonstrated experience in providing expert technical and specialised strategic workforce advice at a senior level in line with legislative and regulatory requirements

  • Well-developed analytical skills and problem solving skills that enable sound decision making, timely responses, creative resolution based approaches and the development of sound policies and /or strategies to address issues.

  • Demonstrated experience using recruitment and HRIS and computer literacy appropriate to the level and responsibilities of the position.
