Position Summary

About The Role

Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg is looking for enthusiastic and motivated midwives for our Maternity Group Practice (MGP) team. This is your opportunity to join our team where you will experience working across the full spectrum of midwifery care in both the hospital and home environments.

MGP is a caseload moeld of care where the registered midwife is the primary care provider for women during the antenatal, labour, birth and postnatal periods. There is a requirement to work on call as part of your roster to care for women in labour.

  • 0.7 EFT, permanent ongoing position
  • Assessing individual women's needs, you will plan, implement and coordinate appropriate service delivery to ensure optimum health outcomes for the women and their families
  • Provide care for women across the maternity care continuum, which includes working on call as part of your roster


About You
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Midwife
  • Level 3 RANZCOG fetal surveillance practitioner
  • Recent experience and demonstrated commitment to providing evidence-based care accross the spectrum
  • Demonstrated ability to provide quality clinical care, including the ability to or working towards: IV cannulation, discharge examination of the newborn, perineal repair, speculum examinations, balloon catheter inductions.
