Casual Administration Officer

We have an exciting opportunity available for dedicated Administration Officers to join our Community and Aged Care Services (CACS) Casual Administration Pool.

Community and Aged Care Services (CACS) is part of the Greater Newcastle Sector (GNS). CACS-GNS has services located across seven sites throughout Lake Macquarie, Newcastle and Port Stephens local geographical areas. CACS-GNS comprises an extensive range of generalist and specialised home-based and centre-based clinical Community Health Services, providing services primarily for adults across six major community health centre sites at Nelson Bay, Newcastle, Raymond Terrace, Toronto, Wallsend and Windale.

About The Role

The Casual Administration Officer is responsible for the efficient and effective provision of administrative/clerical services to the clients and staff within CACS-GNS across all locations. Members of the CACS Casual Administration Pool have a unique opportunity to work in a diverse range of settings across the Greater Newcastle area. You will have an interesting and challenging mix of administration positions offered to you across a wide range of locations. Successful candidates will be responsible for providing relief for permanent administration staff which will cover both planned blocks of leave and unplanned short notice shifts.

There will be considerable time and effort invested in providing training and support to our casual staff, so we are seeking candidates that are dedicated to ongoing casual work and developing their skills within CACS. An appreciation of the nature of casual work is also required, in terms of flexibility with the number of rostered hours allocated and having open availability for blocks of work. Shifts will likely be Monday to Friday and it is expected that the successful candidates be committed to work shifts at all locations within CAC-GNS. There are some after hours and weekend shifts offered at Tomaree Community Hospital.

The role is suitable for someone who has clear communication skills, strong customer service, time management and organisational skills, sound skills in IT, and an eye for detail and accuracy. Also, strong core administrative skills, a willingness to take on challenges, learn new skills, problem solve, and accept constructive feedback are all essential
