Enrolled Nurse - Casual Pool
Cobar Health Service

About the role:
If you are an Enrolled Nurse with a strong clinical skill set, a passion for the best possible client care and would like the opportunity to expand your skills working across many specialties, then we have an opportunity for you.

Our rural based multidisciplinary facilities cover primary health, child and family health, community mental health and alcohol and drug services. Some facilities also offer emergency, acute care, aged care and allied health. Our rural based positions offer the opportunity to expand your skills and fast track your career through gaining a breadth of experience that takes years to achieve in larger facilities. All of this in a stimulating, inclusive and supportive workplace.

Working under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse you’ll support and provide quality care for patients. You will need to communicate effectively with patients and other health care team members, and importantly be an active participant in fostering our culture, lead by the values of collaboration, openness, respect and empowerment.

In a small, close knit team you will be well supported and your dedication will be seen and appreciated. You will be an integral member of the community and you’ll see not only the results of your care but the appreciation of the community of the role you play in their health.

Where you’ll be working:
Cobar is a thriving mining and pastoral town located 700 kilometres west of Sydney and a three hours’ drive to Dubbo, a major regional city in Western NSW.

The recently redeveloped Cobar Multipurpose Service (MPS) provides 24-hour emergency care, acute and sub-acute/non-acute inpatient services including rehabilitation, palliative care, outpatient services, a range of primary and community health services and renal dialysis.

The redevelopment was completed in February 2020 and includes a brand new health service, co-located with the existing residential aged care service. Service upgrades include:

  • Inpatient services;
  • Emergency services;
  • Community Health services;
  • Staff accommodation;
  • Additional ten residential aged care rooms and refurbishment of the aged care service.
  • Renal services, Primary and Community Health services and Ambulatory Care services have also be expanded during this very exciting redevelopment project. The building features two courtyards, including an Aboriginal courtyard and the walls feature artwork and signage specifically with Cobar community involvement.
