Snowy Monaro Regional Council is looking to appoint a Team Leader Resident Support to oversee the delivery of effective and efficient Aged Care services at Yallambee Lodge and Snowy River Hostel.

Integration of activities and resources across these facilities is necessary to achieve Council’s Delivery & Operational Plans. This is a senior position within Council and would be suited to an experienced, highly motivated, proactive and committed individual who can demonstrate the importance of engaging the community and stakeholders within the context of aged care standards.

This is a permanent full-time position, working from either Snowy River Hostel, Berridale or Yallambee Lodge Cooma. The rotating roster system will require alternate work hours including sleepover shifts and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

The Team Leader Resident Support will report into the Manager Support and Operations (Facility Manager). Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Coordinate resources (time, people) to deliver safe, high quality and effective person-centred support
  • Coordinate and lead the resident support team in the delivery of services to ensure residents are supported in their independence, physical, psychosocial, social and spiritual wellbeing in accordance with care and services plan/s
  • Work as part of a team to ensure residents are supported in their independence, physical, psychosocial, social and spiritual wellbeing in accordance with care and services plan/s
  • Comply with and exemplify behaviours that are consistent with legislation, the Aged Care Quality Standards and other requirements relevant to the role
  • Monitor and report on own work and the team’s work performance including progress towards the delivery of work plan goals
  • Responsible for the provision of all domestic duties including but not limited to cleaning and all laundry duties
  • Recognise and report changes in a person’s wellbeing in line with organisational requirements

  • Certificate IV in Ageing Support or a related discipline with demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with older people or people with disability in a positive, friendly and professional manner
  • Ability to work hours which will vary according to roster requirements. This may include shift work, some night, weekend and public holiday shifts. Ability to participate in on call work that may be required as rostered.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships to achieve outcomes that contribute to the achievement of the organisation’s strategic goals
