DIRECTOR GOVERNANCE, RISK AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT



  • Full time opportunity in a newly created role, with flexible working options and relocation opportunities available for negotiation.

  • Colac Area Health is a unique integrated health service comprising of over 500 employees, providing Acute Care, Aged Care, Community and Allied Health Services to a catchment population of approximately 30 000. Situated in the Colac Otway Shire, one of the most picturesque Victorian municipalities that provides city conveniences with a country charm, plus we have the Otway Ranges and the Great Ocean Road right on our doorsteps.

A senior, business critical position where you will lead, influence and implement governance and frameworks which underpin practice, quality and risk frameworks in a values driven organisation.



As a collaborative member of the Executive team, responsible for providing advice, mentoring, support and governance of the services programs along with monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and contributing to funding body reports.



The core focus of the role



  • Ensure the ongoing development and management of a Colac Area Health’s (CAH) governance and legal frameworks and ensure alignment with the Victorian Government Clinical Governance Framework. Focussing on the key elements of:

    • Leadership and Culture

    • Consumer Partnerships

    • Workforce

    • Risk Management

    • Clinical Practice



  • Develop and lead the implementation of CAH’s strategic communications and engagement strategy.

  • Lead and coordinate CAH’s accreditation requirements, quality improvement initiatives, and risk management process and systems development.

    • Manage CAH’s Public Relations, Corporate Partnerships and complaints management initiatives and processes.




A bit about you


To have success in the role you will be a motivating and engaging leader, who can influence change. You will also have:



  • Proven track record in leading, implementing and managing quality and risk management programs and systems at a senior management level.

  • Relevant experience in clinical governance and accreditation standards.

  • Demonstrated experience promoting a culture of continuous improvement, preferably in a health services setting and partnering with employees at all levels of the organisation and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated understanding of performance measurement, benchmarking and service standards in the health services sector.
