Your role

This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre, experienced individual to join Australian Unity’s Wealth & Capital Markets platform. Wealth & Capital Markets comprises the Advice, Investments, Life & Super, Property, and Trustees business units.

Australian Unity is the Master Developer of the $1.1 billion redevelopment of the Herston Quarter healthcare precinct in Brisbane. This project is set to provide Queenslanders with access to state-of-the-art health, hospital and aged care services, as well as creating international standard research and educational facilities.

The Commercial Manager will provide high level project management of commercial team activities and oversee and manage implementation of contracts and commercial agreements to achieve delivery of the $1.1 billion Herston Quarter Redevelopment. The position will include:

Management of commercial agreements:
Commercial Project Management of Development Agreement activities including Stage Commencements, Stage Completions, and Critical Milestones.
Establish processes and develop tools to ensure commercial activities and project milestones are proactively monitored and reported against targets.
Establish and build relationships with multiple parties, including key government partners, contractors and peers to assist the achievement of commercial outcomes.

Strategic commercial support:
Developing specific project plans in conjunction with the commercial and development teams.
Prepare, negotiate and finalise service agreements with consultants, operational service providers and tenants of leased accommodation.

Preparation of notices and reports required under the Development Agreement and related documents.

About you

Expertise required:
Well-practiced in implementing and overseeing commercial arrangements on complex projects and management of multi-party agreements.
In-depth understanding of contractual agreements, ideally in relation to property development, construction and or facilities management.
Ideally, experience in the development, construction and or property and facilities management sector.
Demonstrated high level attention to detail and highly effective communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to support a complex project and work in teams to deliver project outcomes
Minimum of five years’ experience in a comparable senior role in construction, development, infrastructure or related areas.
A degree in either business, commerce, law, engineering or construction management.
