About The Position

Our Governance Risk & Assurance team are responsible for positioning Anglicare to be in-step with progressive reforms and advancing community services excellence through governance, strategic research, quality assurance and risk management. To support the team, we require a Coordinator - Assurance & Risk specialising in community services. In your new role, you will be responsible for best practice quality management systems and programs of activity with the community portfolio, including the application of risk management practices, and continuous improvement initiatives

Your Role Will Also Include

This is a permanent full-time role, based in our Brisbane office in the cathedral precinct on Ann Street, you will also have the option to work from home part time, as well as traveling to our sites. You will be supported and mentored by your managers and work closely with the Research and Innovation team, the Policy team and Learning and Development team to ensure the ongoing success of our integrated clinical and care governance framework and systems.

  • Leading, driving, implementing, and ensuring best practice quality management systems and programs of activity for our community programs, including home care packages, disability, mental health and wellbeing and children and families.
  • Ensuring services align with Anglicare’s best practice evidence-based models, standards, and legislative requirements
  • Support service leaders to develop and implement quality management systems
  • Drive and support the application of risk management principles and practices including risk identification, monitoring, managing, and reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement at the system, process, and cultural level (from compliance to commitment)
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to enhance clinical and care governance to deliver exceptional client outcomes

About You

With a significant background in quality, risk or governance, you will be passionate about supporting Anglicare to provide quality care for both aged clients and those with a disability within the community. Skills and experience will include:
  • Proven understanding of the provision of care within a community-based service and an understanding of multi-stream services and working within a multidisciplinary organisation
  • Robust understanding of relevant legislative requirements and reforms including Home Care Common Standards, NDIS and Human Service Quality Frameworks
  • Experienced in quality assessment, accreditation or similar in a community or other healthcare setting
  • Successful leadership and implementation of best practice quality management systems
  • Effective risk monitoring and management, quality assurance reviews and critical analysis
  • Previous experience in the use of Riskman or similar software would be an advantage
  • Experience in advising, coaching and mentoring managers and staff on risk and compliance issues, with the ability to build strong networks with key stakeholders
  • Able to develop highly effective working relationships by building credibility, respect and rapport
  • Change and project management skills, including the ability to influence others
  • A proven track record in streamlining processes and technology systems to increase efficiencies
  • A flexible, collaborative approach, a team focus and a self-directed work ethic
You Will Be Required To Hold The Following
  • Blue Card (Working with Children) with Yellow Card exemption
  • National Police Certificate
  • A Queensland Driver Licence and a willingness to travel throughout the service region
  • A tertiary qualification (or equivalent) relevant to the role is highly desirable
