JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Coveted retirement living role with room to stretch
  • Genuine autonomy and flexibility
  • Fantastic opportunity with a respected, care, and community-focused organisation lower Blue Mountains

Seeking a leadership role that’s out of the box?

Anyone can claim to be a ‘people person’, but very few are the real deal.

We’re casting our net to catch that rare creature, the one who implicitly understands relationships are the key to success, satisfaction and reward. If that’s you, this equally rare opportunity is your chance to shine as Retirement Living Manager for a highly-regarded organisation with an established history in aged care.

You’ll not just be at the core of village life, you’ll be its heart: a keen advocate and voice for residents and their families committed to ensuring they live their best lives with maximum levels of independence, health and wellbeing.

And you are…?

Comfortable creating change for good. A thoughtful listener, a great communicator and a relationship builder. Someone with a warm and positive ‘can do’ attitude for developing solutions that improve and elevate client care. Genuinely client and service-focused. An empathic, glass-half-full person.

In addition to previous retirement village management or assistant management experience in which you’ve had close connections with consumers, you’ll also:

  • Possess a clear understanding of Retirement Villages Act, Body Corporate and Community Management Act
  • Manage the day to day operations of the village
  • Ensure legislative and regulatory standards are upheld and met
  • Demonstrate high levels of written and spoken communication
  • Be the face of contact for residents and their families, managing day to day issues that may arise and finding meaningful and effective solutions
  • Market and promote the village to the local community
  • Oversee sales contract negotiation and project management across the village
  • Coordinate maintenance and renovations with Maintenance Manager

And while you’ll report to the CEO, you’ll otherwise enjoy true autonomy with the flexibility to choose your own workdays as the retirement community’s lynchpin point of contact.

What makes this organisation one you’d want to work for?

Nestled in environmentally sensitive surrounds, the organisation has an amazing history with a meaningful commitment to providing care-focused and commercially successful targeted retirement living and residential aged care services, specific to the lower Blue Mountains community.

Its success has been steered by a values-driven, community-connected Board of Directors, CEO and executive team who, along with practising good governance, believe strong relationships are the key to both collective and individual fulfilment and achievement.
