Holy Family Services is proud to be a dedicated aged care, retirement village, childcare and education provider for the Western Sydney region. We have a proud tradition in providing the highest standard of care in a community-minded environment to both our aged care residents and members of our childcare centre.

We are currently seekinga committed and enthusiastic Lifestyle & Leisure Officer who will be responsible for delivery of individual and group activity programs designed to enhance our residents’ physical, intellectual, emotional, cultural, and social wellbeing. A Permanent Part-time/Full-time position is available for a suitable qualified and experienced candidate.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Providing varied, interesting, and stimulating activities programs to meet the needs of the residents.
  • Establishing goals, planning, organising, implementing, and evaluating therapy programs for residents and community activities and special events
  • Maintaining appropriate records of all assessments, therapy plans, evaluations, and activity programs
  • Ensuring involvement of the Residents in the development of stimulating and enjoyable activities
  • Managing the Lifestyle & Leisure resources.

The right candidates must have the following essential qualifications to be considered:

  • Certificate IV in Diversional Therapy/Lifestyle and Leisure or Diploma Diversional Therapy/Lifestyle and Leisure or happy to work towards a qualification.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in residential aged care or community setting
  • Previous experience with dementia residents and developing individual programs focusing on person centred care
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and professionally with limited supervision
  • Ability to contribute to the assessment of each residents social and emotional needs and design appropriate, individual lifestyle programs to meet their needs
  • An understanding of the ageing process and caring for older people
  • Self-motivation with well-developed organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines, delegate and attend to multiple tasks
  • Effective communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and professionally with limited supervision
  • Current Criminal Record Check and NDIS Worker Check
  • Evidence of right to work in Australia
